Low-poly avatar maker
Rebuilt out of a few hundred polygons: faceted hair, blocky shoulders and a blurry face texture, lit like the character-select screen of a late-90s console game.
From a selfie or a sentence, in about ten seconds. No card needed.
Polygon examples
Each of these was drawn from one line of text, shown under it. Type your own, or add a selfie instead.

What makes it Polygon
Faceted geometry
Hair and head made from a handful of large flat polygons with hard edges.
Low-res textures
A blurry, slightly warped face texture with visible blocky texels.
Console-era lighting
Simple vertex shading with a touch of colour banding and jagged edges.
Character-select backdrop
A deep blue-to-black gradient behind you, ready for player one.
How to make one
- Pick Polygon. The button on this page opens minipic.me with Polygon already chosen.
- Add a selfie or a sentence. One face in good light, looking at the camera, works best. Or describe anyone (or anything) in a few words.
- Keep it. Download PNG or WebP from 64 to 1024 pixels, with the background kept or cut out to transparent, or tweak it ("add a red scarf").
Great for
- Retro 3D and indie game profiles
- Speedrunning and let's-play channels
- Discord servers for retro collectors
- Game jam team pages
- Vaporwave and nostalgia accounts
Questions
What makes it look late-90s?
Low polygon counts, blurry textures and no anti-aliasing: the limits of the first 3D home consoles, reproduced on purpose.
Can I make a whole team roster?
Yes. Draw each person in Polygon and line them up like a character-select screen.
Is it free?
Your first two avatars are free, no card needed. After that, your first pack is $5 for 12 avatars, then packs start at $9 for 20, and credits never expire.
Do you keep my photo?
A photo you add to draw once is used for that drawing and not kept. Photos you save in People are kept privately until you delete them or your account.
